Recently, a researcher was charged with the task of analyzing PBS to find its archetype. In short, the question was: “If PBS were a person, what kind of person would it be?” The answer is as flattering as it is obvious; PBS was identified as “The Explorer.” From childhood through adulthood, PBS provides programming that expands the mind, takes you to interesting places and aids your understanding of the world around you.
A quick flip through your program guide can take you to the ends of the earth and back again. In one day on Ozarks Public Television, kids can explore cultures through a trip to the museum with Maya & Miguel, experience new cities with Postcards from Buster and visit the animal kingdom with It’s a Big Big World. There is no shortage of eye-opening adventures on OPT – and that’s just for the little ones! In that same day, NOVA takes you to rural Ethiopia just before Frontline whisks you away to the top of Mount Everest. Every month, OzarksWatch Video Magazine gives you the opportunity to explore the fascinating people and places of the Ozarks.
We think the “Explorer” label is an apt one, and we’re pleased to be the source of adventures for people of all ages across the Ozarks. It is your curiosity and sense of adventure that we seek to satisfy. Thank you for spending your time with OPT. Because of your faithful support, there are many great adventures ahead!
